Dear Fifth Grade Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

Can you believe that this is your child(ren)’s last year attending MAS? It seems like yesterday when we were taking pictures on the first day of kindergarten. Fifth grade is going to be an exciting year for our children!

​

For each fifth grade class, the MAS PTA works together with the MAS administration and staff, and the White Plains School District to bring all fifth graders events and experiences to make their year unforgettable, which typically include:

​

• MAS Yearbook with pictures covering all years at school (2014/15 – 2019/20)

• Custom MAS Class of 2020 shirt at the end of the year

• A full day field trip including transportation (past classes have gone to Medieval Times and Clearpool)

• A major league baseball game including transportation

• A year end social and pizza party, including DJ and photo booth

• Field day lunch, refreshments and equipment

• Moving up/graduation ceremony decorations and refreshments

 

The 5th Grade Committee, a group of fifth grade parents and guardians, is already hard at work to make this happen. But we can’t do it without YOU. As in the past, the fundraising goal is significant, so that all costs are covered for all students.  Here are three ways you can help.

1. Join the 5th Grade committee. Email fifthgrademas@gmail.com to be put on the email list. Any time you can spare will be greatly appreciated. There will be multiple fundraising and other events that won’t succeed without volunteers to help plan and/or staff the event.  Please reach out to fifthgrademas@gmail.com to ask how you can volunteer.

2. Make a monetary contribution. The more money we raise up front, the less time we need to spend fundraising and the more time we can spend creating special memories for the fifth grade. If you are able, please consider making a donation of any amount that feels right to you. Make checks out to MAS PTA (cash is also accepted). Send in an envelope marked PTA 5th Grade Fundraiser no later than October 15th. Please write your child’s name and teacher on the envelope. You can also donate online at  https://bit.ly/MAS5thGrade.

3. Activate your network. If you, or someone you know, have a connection to help with our fundraising efforts (goods, services, corporate sponsorship, etc.) please email fifthgrademas@gmail.com. There are companies that believe in not just our students’ education, but in our students’ experiences as a whole. They just need to be asked. In the past, people have donated flowers to be sold at concerts and ballroom dancing, pumpkins to be decorated at the Spooktacular, and baked goods and other refreshments to be sold at events.

 

Our students have worked so hard, and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments and their time at MAS. With your assistance, we are confident that we can make it fantastic last year at MAS!  Thank you in advance for your support.
